Something to cheer about!

Ashley Judd at the UK game, where Kentucky beat Wake Forest 90-60 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

UK absolutely stomped Wake Forest, 90-60. Trouble is, it was such a rout that CBS switched most of the areas which had that game — and we were one of them — to Kansas State-Brigham Young, which seemed more competitive, even though BYU, trailing the entire second half, never was able to close the gap.

    I was displeased.

  2. A 1, a 2, 2 3s, and a 4 have already packed their bags. A whole lot of brackets have been destroyed.

  3. Dana Pico says:

Yeah, well the second seed going home, Villanova, never deserved a second seed; a third, tops, the way they finished the regular season and the Big East Tournament. Duke shouldn’t have been a number one seed — Ohio State or West Virginia should have had that one — and there were just a lot of things I didn’t understand about the tournament selection. Florida, fourth in the SEC East, should never have made the field if Mississippi State, first in the SEC West didn’t get in, and six Big East teams during a down year for the league?

  4. Jeff says:

Haven’t been paying as much attention this year. When your team goes down in ridiculously painful fashion in the first game of the tourney, it’s really hard to care about basketball for the rest of the weekend.

  5. I’m a Buckeye fan so I can get away with saying this on a non-Buckeye site: The Buckeyes didn’t deserve a 1 seed. They have no depth and will be too worn out to get to the Final Four.

Miss Judd sure has some nice, er, juggs …

  7. Eric, you’re a sick puppy. But I already knew that with your taste in music. There are few “famous” people I would recognize if I ever saw them outside their “sphere of influence”, fewer I would recognize on TV at a sports arena, and almost none if I saw them in person.

I saw a plain ol’ Kentucky fan, proud of “her” team. Ashley Judd? Jeans and a T-Shirt, and earrings that, from a distance, could be bought at your local “free ear peircing” place (but I’m sure they’re 4-digits). Seems down-to-earth, definitely not glammed up for the show (LA Lakers Hollywood trash), just your average over-age chick to me.

  8. Dana Pico says:

Ashley Judd is definitely a glamour girl, but she’s also a down-home Kentucky beauty. At 41, I don’t think she’s overaged!

She’s a graduate of the University of Kentucky, and he mother is Naomi Judd; her half-sister Wynonna and her mother made up the country music group The Judds.

  9. Other Dana says:

Ashley Judd is absolutely lovely…as long as she isn’t talking politics.

I remember a couple years ago her husband won the Indy 500, and she rushed across the track to go greet him. It was, of course, pouring rain, and her tight dress, soaking wet, revealed her Juggs rather nicely …
