Where did I get this quote? I got it from a well-researched, well-spoken, respectful (much more respectful than I) teen-aged girl. And she has a lot more to say about a lot more (and the research to back it up).

This Red State/Blue State nonsense is offensively wrongheaded.
The need to use color to indicate political party is an artifact of TV coverage. Large maps indexed by party color to show voting preferences is fine and useful, and that’s OK by me, however, my objection revolves around inappropriate color allocation.
As it stands now, the GOP is assigned the color Red, which is an obvious error because Democrats are much more identified with collectivists of all sorts: communists, socialists, progressives, unionists, environmentalists, journalists, and bureaucrats. Organically, the Democrats are the Red Party, or at the very least the Pinkish-Red Party. I Hope for Change.
