Dog bites man

Sister Toldjah is amongst those with an article concerning The Washington Post’s admitted bias during the campaign:

Ed Morrissey unloads this morning on WaPo ombudsman Deborah Howell’s analysis of election coverage from her paper over the last year. Make sure to read Ed’s full post to get a good idea of just how lopsided the coverage was in favor of Obama – not only that, but Ms. Howell admitted the WaPo flat out fell down on the job as it related to digging into Joe Biden’s past like they did Gov. Sarah Palin’s.

I suspect in the coming days and weeks we’ll see more of this, just like we did when Chris Matthews admitted earlier this week that he thought it was his “job” to help the Obama presidency over the next four years. The media’s done their “job” in helping get their candidate elected. Now that it’s all over, there’s no point in even pretending objectivity anymore. Numerous studies confirm the assertions made by many conservatives about the blatant bias of media coverage in favor of Obama.

This truly is the story of the 2008 election season. Even had McCain run a flawless campaign, between the economic collapse and the overwhelmingly biased coverage of the election, he faced an uphill battle the entire way. And the election results prove he was unable to overcome those odds.

So much for the liberal meme that the professional media are conservative! But, in reality, this is dog bites man. The only real news is that the Post admitted it.

    Dummy,

    I mean Dana…

Get it right for once. The liberal meme is not that journalists are liberal. It is that the media establishment is conservative. That is to say the media corporations are conservative. And it is not a meme, it is the plain truth.

When liberals own entire TV and radio networks, you can get your impotent rage on.

    Peace!

jason. Deep thinking won’t hurt. Go on give it a try.

Anyone see the Chevy Chase interview where he admitted that his whole Gerald Ford shtick was developed to get Carter elected? He also said that SNL was purposefully hurting Palin to help Barack.

Solzhenitsyn was right when he said it should just be called the media. Meaning all media that is meant to inform. He thought that it was completely out of control back in the early 80′s. Nobody votes for these guys and there are no term limits.

Thank God for anecdotes eh Brian?

Yes, jason, anecdotes are illustrative of greater truths. In this case, it’s no surprise that the treatment John McCain and Sarah Palin got by the press (as well as Tina Fey’s SNL skits) was designed to benefit Barack Obama. In 30 years of watching politics, I’ve never seen such openly biased coverage for one candidate. It is one for the history books.

Jason: You seem stuck on the fact that the media corporations are owned by private businesses, and therefore must be conservative. Yet if the ownership are conservative, then they must play no part in what their companies produce./ There are a few newspapers with a conservative editorial view point — The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Times come to mind — but the vast majority of the major dailies have been endorsing and supporting Democrats all along. Of the television news sources, only Fox could be called conservative; the rest range from center left to further left, with MSNBC moving the furthest to the left in search of an audience.

The only professional medium with a conservative bias overall is talk radio.

Perhaps it could be said that some of the ownership is conservative, but that’s meaningless; we are talking about the visible product.

I think Jason doesn’t believe there are any rich Dems in the world.
