Breaking News: Barack Hussein Obama resigns from controversial Trinity United Church of Christ

    Obama resigns from controversial church

(CNN) — Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign confirmed Saturday that he has resigned from the Chicago church where controversial sermons by his former pastor and other ministers created repeated political headaches for the Democratic frontrunner.

The resignation comes days after the Rev. Michael Pfleger, a visiting Catholic priest, mocked Obama’s Democratic rival, Sen. Hillary Clinton, for crying during the runup to the New Hampshire primary.

Previously, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, former pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ and Obama’s minister for about 20 years, drew unwanted attention for the campaign when videos of his fiery sermons surfaced.

In the speeches, Wright suggested that the U.S. government may be responsible for the spread of AIDS in the black community and equated some American wartime activities to terrorism.

Obama has said he was not present for the controversial sermons by Wright or Pfleger and condemned both. This week, he said he was “deeply disappointed” by Pfleger’s “divisive, backward-looking rhetoric.”

Uh huh. The you tube from Sister Toldjah’s fine site:

The nipple of Barack’s Soul Exposed

Elaine on Seinfeld said it best, could have been about Barack Obama….

ELAINE: I did not bare myself deliberately, but I tell you, I wish now that I had! Because it is not me that has been exposed, but you! For I have seen the nipple on your soul!

Obama has shown us a glimpse of his soul as he dumps his church…it ain’t very pretty. What a troubled lost man who wants to play president. Barak, go home, find yourself, before it is too late for you to “be a man, and take a stand.”

If you saw Barak Obama give the press conference today where he ditched his church membership, then you saw a very weak man indeed. I don’t agree with his church’s rhetoric but I did expect him to have faith in God’s house of worship and to not be influenced by the media. Senator Obama just does not have the core beliefs and soul to lead our nation.

He said that he refers to scripture every day. How can Senator Obama refer to the bible everyday and live with his own approval of abortion, the murder of God’s unborn children.

Had not Barack Obama read Psalm 23:4 since he said that he referred to the scriptures every day.

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

    Barak now should read:

Matthew 16:8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?

Didn’t Obama know that God would provide for him in times of trouble? I just don’t believe this poor lost soul of a man one bit.

Danita: Our liberal friends ~ and supporters of Mr Obama ~ on Pandagon have noted his departure from Trinity United Church of Christ, and they’re happy, because they seem to think that candidates should have no religious faith in the first place, or if they do, that it should be a deep, dark secret.

  4. Bitter Scribe:

Well, it sure as hell (so to speak) isn’t something I’d base my vote on.

  5. Dana Pico:

Perhaps not, but I’d bet that you can see that there are other people, people with just as much of a vote as you, who might think differently. Apparently Mr Obama himself thinks that his association with TUCC is going to cost him votes.

[...] The decision of Senator Barack Hussein Obama (D-IL) to resign from Trinity United Church of Christ, due to the political ramifications from the sermons of his former pastor, the Rev Dr Jeremiah Wright, and guest speaker Fr Michael Phleger’s crazy remarks has prompted all sorts of columns on the subject — including our own Johannes Magnus and Yorkshire’s photographic comment. Brian of Liberty Pundit called it the “Wright move,” and made an interesting comparison between Scott McClellan’s tell-all book and Mr Obama’s long association with TUCC: The question becomes this, for both men: if these things were going on the entire time you were there and you thought them to be wrong, why did you stay? Why wouldn’t you have spoken up or left sooner? The most likely answer is because they had, for whatever reason, a sense of loyalty to these guys, they believed in what they were doing and saying, so they kept their mouths shut, went along with them, and stuck it out until the time was right to do something about it.
