Another innocent man framed?

Double murderer Charles Hood is third in line for the next round of Texas needle parties. Georgia has already stolen a jump on Texas with free gurney rides. Hood claims not repentance but innocence and has been playing the system for nearly two decades.

The circumstances of the case are rather straightforward. Hood lived with his employer Ronald Williamson, a man 46 years old and the employers girlfriend, Tracie Wallace, a woman aged 26. The younger woman appears to have had some life-style problems with drugs and had formerly worked as a topless dancer. She seemed to be living a more sedate life with businessman Williamson.

Hood’s work schedule called for him to be at work in the afternoon, Williamson left for work early in the morning.

Williamson returned home for lunch and Tracie was not there to greet him. He found a note hat appeared to be from Tracie. It did not seem to be in her handwriting and her name was misspelled. Williamson feared for the worst and then called police to report Tracie missing. The conversation with the dispatcher was recorded and the recordings included the voice of Charles Hood in the background.

The police responded within minutes of receiving the call and found both Williamson and Wallace shot to death and their remains in plastic bags. A number of items were missing, including jewelry, credit cards, and the Cadillac belonging to Williamson. Charles Hood had vanished.

Among the forensic evidence gathered were the ‘note’ and plastic bags over the victims, All bore bloody fingerprints of Hood.

Hours had passed between the two killings and Hood’s work schedule did not require him to leave the house before Williamson returned for lunch. During the interval between the two murders, Hood went to a florist to place an out-of-state order using the credit card of his employer. The clerk noted that Hood was wearing a very expensive watch that was identical to one missing from his employer’s safe.

Law enforcement authorities used credit card records to follow a trail that was leading to the Indiana residence of the recipient of Hood’s thoughtful gift of flowers. Hood also uttered forged checks written on his employer’s account and hocked some of the missing jewelry.

Hood was arrested in Indiana and more loot from the crime scene was recovered from the stolen car.

Hood demanded more DNA testing to prove his innocence and the courts properly denied this claim. He was just trying to delay his execution. If there was a second party to the crime, Hood’s participation would have made him equally eligible for execution.

Hood and his fans would have us believe that another party (perhaps a former boyfriend of the woman) was the killer. One wonders why Hood did not hear the gunshot and why the killer remained to murder the employer but let potential witness Hood carry off the loot and remained unharmed.

Given the time line of the crimes, Hood would have us believe the following scenario: The jealous former boyfriend entered the house and forced Tracie to open the safe. He then shot her while Hood snoozed. They mystery assailant left the loot behind. Hood awoke and decided to send a lady friend some flowers. He put on the expensive watch and ‘borrowed’ a credit card belonging to his employer and made the purchase and then returned home. He still was unaware of the earlier killing. Williamson returns to lunch and is worried about the missing girlfriend. The note appears bogus and he calls 911. The police respond in less than five minutes to find two bodies. Could we believe that the mystery killer returned, killed Williamson but did not see Hood? Why did the ‘true killer’ again leave valuable loot behind? Why would an innocent Hood grab the loot and vanish in a stolen car?

All sorts of irrelevant material is being used to delay justice in this case but the facts leave no room for dispute. Hood should be executed for his crimes and ridding the world of such a stupid individual is a bonus that should add to the sense of celebration when his is needled.

Read Hood’s own words:

This is CHARLES DEAN HOOD, a young man on Texas Death Row. I am seeking your help for (“Justice was denied”) in my case and I would like to express why this is vital – needing someone to step forward and want to help me. I was convicted in 1990 of a double homicide clearly the evidence that was used against me was fabricated and also important evidence withheld, that would clearly give the jury in this case, the actual party who committed this crime – who they didn’t seek to try. I have tried over the years writing to many people regarding some help for me, but no-one has wanted to step forward and assist me.

Hood has a fan club that includes the usual foreign busybodies and domestic bleeding hearts. No doubt we could find a frustrated nun in the mix. Perhaps the latter should stick to rapping knuckles rather than helping the scum of the earth to beat the rap.

It’s not surprising that the bleeding hearts in the Salon article failed to mention took little space to talk about the victims or the brutality of the crime for material possesions while attempting to claim that a current affair has anything to do with the crime or the justice process—what a joke.

The only problem here is that justice is not swift enough.

If Salon wasn’t a piece of garbage they would retract that article. There were no facts to support the false allegations of impropriety between the prosecutor and the judge. Additionally, Hood never raised the issue in any of his appeals. It appears those who oppose the death penalty feel justified in telling any lie that suits their cause.

..false allegations of impropriety between the prosecutor and the judge..Dave

Just what was the time line for the alleged ‘impropriety’?

With the two murders, the time line alone eliminated any chance that Hood could have been ‘framed’.

If we are to believe the fan club for Death Row tenants, most are innocent and really nice folks. Does Texas make money on framing innocent people and executing them?
