BAGHDAD (AP) — The number of bombings and suicide attacks has dropped dramatically in the Iraqi capital, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Sunday, claiming sectarian violence ”is closed now.”

Meanwhile, a roadside bomb missed a U.S. convoy in eastern Baghdad, killing a 12-year-old girl and wounding four other Iraqis, police said.
Al-Maliki, a Shiite Muslim, told reporters that ”terrorist acts” including car bombings and suicide attacks have dropped by 77 percent from last year’s high, a sign that Sunni-Shiite violence ”is closed now.” LINK

When these brave VETERANS start coming home next year and a knew IRAQ rises out of the ashes of tyranny, you and your band of anti-war-Boooosh-Cheney-Haliburton-America-haters will be scorned as a part of this nation that cared not to stand for the persecuted and the oppressed. “Common Dreams”? What a joke. There’s nothing common about selfishness.

Hmm, wonder if that is because of the Failed War, Surge, and change of tactics.

Now you’ve gone and done it, posting the one thing the lefties can’t stand, namely, good news from Iraq!

  4. Yes, it pleases me that some good might come out of the hundreds of thousands of those that have died, and gotten maimed permanantly. To bad it’s just mostly the oil companies, since I bet the Iraqis would surely not be glad for the invasion, since, we were comparable with Sadaam Hussein in how many we’ve killed, only his accomplishing of killing hundreds of thousands, was in a twenty year period, ours in less than 4.

My problem also, is I don’t trust the government’s accessment of the situation, in case you haven’t noticed, more often than not, most things they say are DIFFERENT than those that don’t have a political agenda, and those folks are professionals, like…you know, statisticians, and non-embedded reporters. From the administration’s side, its several Generic, uh, I mean Generals’ say-so, but, their careers are dependent upon complying just perfectly so, with the desired explanation of the Whitehouse boys, so how could we know if they are telling it honestly ? We do know however, that numerous Generals have actually retired early just so they could speak out honestly, and it went contrary to Bush and his many shills’ acessment.

After hundreds of thousands of innocent people have been killed and/or permanantly maimed, when NO terrorists were in Iraq before the invasion, and no WMDs prior, after inspectors attempted to convey before the invasion, got washed out of the news.

Gee, Eric, why might I be scathingly disgusted with Bush? You do know that all those administration officials are making astonishing amounts of $$$$ off of this illegal (by international standards) invasion, don’t you? You do know that dozens of war crimes have been committed, don’t you? With the administration’s orders of course, don’t you? Sigh! You may not even know these things. Oh, don’t give me that “They-the detainees are the scum of the earth, because they are ‘terrorists’ because actually, soldiers have spoken out, saying that they did random raids of homes to get themselves detainees, with no foreknowledge of their insurgent or terrorist status (terrorist-insurgent- DIFFERENT). One soldier even declared painfully, that “we’re the bad guys now, and I don’t blame the Iraqis for fighting back..becoming insurgents”

NO, with all the horror we have brought, I hope to God, something positive for Iraq, and us, comes of it, too bad, it will mostly be the oil companies.

Bush and Rumsfield ignored all the professionals-those Generals-who ended up demoted, who tried to give advice, when the Bush cabal started the tragic bloody fiasco. If you get a chance to see the docuementary called “No End in Sight” see it, the professionals (that word again) involved with the war speak throughout the film.

Because you’re a paranoid loon who believes nothing except what anonymous kooks on the Internet have to say? Do you have any friends, Blu? Do you trust them, or are they part of the conspiracy, too ???
