Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) complained that he greatly disapproved of the “secret wiretapping” program, but couldn’t do anything about it because he was sworn to secrecy. Senator Pat Roberts responded:
Now the Justice Department is (apparently) going to investigate just who leaked information about the program to the media. And, sha-zamm! it seems that a lot of the speculation is focusing on, you guessed it, Senator Rockefeller.
Wouldn’t it be fitting if the distinguished Senator from West Virginia, who said that he opposed it but didn’t have the balls to do anything about it turns out to have been the source?
