According to the obvious leftist Maureen Dowd:
By now you have to be willfully blind not to know that the imam in charge of the [Ground Zero mosque] project, Feisal Abdul Rauf, is the moderate Muslim we have allegedly been yearning for.
For reference, Maureen Dowd is an apologist for the horn-dog David Letterman. And she only pretended to throw the predator Bill Clinton under the bus. Of course her obvious dishonesty in that article is easily seen. For a supposed feminist, Dowd is an utter failure, sacrificing women at the altar of liberalism. But as a liberal, she’s par for the course, sacrificing truth for her agenda.
Patterico, who owns a JD (which requires more knowledge than merely knowing the Dewey Decimal System), filleted Dowd. He noted Rauf’s assertion that the US was complicit in the terrorist 9/11 event. He also noted Rauf’s absolute refusal to call Hamas a terrorist organization.
It is easy to find Rauf’s desire to push Sharia law on the US. It is also easy to find Rauf’s connection at the hip to unindicted co-conspirators who funneled money to Mohammedan terrorist organizations. It’s called GOOGLE.
The Imam who wants to build the Cordoba House (GOOGLE Cordoba) is not in any way a moderate. To claim otherwise is to deny the facts which are readily available.
It is interesting to note that, if Rauf had his way, Dowd would not be able to publish in the press.

Uh-huh.
Idiot.
A link to Little Green Footballs? Is that all you got? You might as well link to Andrew Sullivan and his obsession with Sarahcuda’s supposedly superhuman reproductive organs for all LGF is worth.
A comment that mirrors one Glenn Beck made as proof this guy is “a radical Muslim”? That all you got?
Idiot.
I note that like clockwork the demonization of Imam Rauf has begun, perpetrated by the experts of demonization, to which we find some acolytes thereof right here on this very blog. So what’s new already?
You hypocrites who claim to oppose big government are calling on big government to investigate Muslim community center organizers who want to build on private property, in the same manner that we have always investigated Christians, NOT!
So go ahead bigoted righties, throw your alleged principles out of the window in order to further your racist goals. There will always be those of us moderate, fair-minded individuals who will call you out on your outrageous un-American extremist racist behavior.
Read here about this radical Muslim Imam!
So you’ve got it wrong, Hitchcock, the idiot on this issue is not Maureen Dowd!
In fact, here are some words of wisdom from the “idiot” and “leftist” Maureen Dowd:
You should pay attention to the whole article, Hitchcock, since it could get your brain off of auto-pilot mode!
While on the subject of “radical” imams, take a look here of eight “radical” imams who recently accompanied a number of rabbis and prominent Jews to Auschwitz to emphasize the reality of the Holocaust to those who are and would be Holocaust deniers.
Hitchcock, bookmark this page under “Radical Imams”!
I’ll ask Perry again: Is Pat Robertson a “moderate” evangelist?
Perry beat me to it.
So, for association with radical extreme alien stranger Muslim Imams, you now must demonize the FBI, too.
“Imam Feisal has participated at the Aspen Institute in Muslim-Christian-Jewish working groups looking at ways to promote greater religious tolerance,” Walter Isaacson, head of The Aspen Institute told the Huffington Post. “He has consistently denounced radical Islam and terrorism, and promoted a moderate and tolerant Islam. Some of this work was done under the auspices of his own group, the Cordoba Initiative. I liked his book, and I participated in some of the meetings in 2004 or so. This is why I find it a shame that his good work is being undermined by this inflamed dispute. He is the type of leader we should be celebrating in America, not undermining.”
ps Maureen is still an idiot
So? Did the Army do its job back before Nov. 5, 2009?
Breaking: Speaker Nancy Pelosi calls for investigation into using the First Amendment:
The cockroaches don’t like it when you turn the lights on, but the homeowners need to know that they have a problem.
Oh, I see. Let’s use the power of government to investigate how people utilizing their 1st Amendment rights are getting their support.
See how quickly people change their views when it affects their ingrained dogma?
I didn’t say the government should stop them from talking. Neither did Nancy.
Neither did I, as you’ll see. However, why in the world should government “investigate” an exercising of free speech?
Investigate Imam Obama.
“It is easy to find Rauf’s desire to push Sharia law on the US.”
Bull.
John,
1, You are right. Maureen Dowd is a neurotic idiot.
2, Is there anything you can do to stop Perry from having the ability to edit the comments of other people?
This site has been interesting and even fun, but …
DNW: “2, Is there anything you can do to stop Perry from having the ability to edit the comments of other people?”
Produce the evidence, DNW!
Never mind, there is none!! But you can go ahead and make it up, if you’d like!
Just more paranoia surfacing from DNW.
Why is it that fear seems to be a centerpiece in the existence of most Conservatives on here.
PS: Now I do go in and edit obviously stupid mistakes and typos that I make, when I spot them. Moreover, I’ve discovered that I’ve been more careless the last few days. Must be my Alzheimers! Finally, if I add a thought later to a piece, I label it as such.
Meanwhile, some guy in Texas tried to blow up and shoot up a police station.
Good thing he didn’t try to build a civic center, instead.
Meanwhile, some guy in Texas tried to blow up and shoot up a police station.
Was he a Christian? Perhaps we should ban Christians from building churches anywhere in Texas…
And, just repeating, here’s an interview with the main guy behind the community centre that PB is wetting his panties in fear about.
Well, we know that Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf refuses to say that Hamas is a terrorist organization, but it’s also true that he didn’t say they weren’t; he simply fell back on the “Look, I’m not a politician. The issue of terrorism is a very complex question” hedge of refusing to take a position.
When it comes to shari’a law, he said:
How nice, how moderate. Yet wherever shari’a has been imposed, it hasn’t been imposed in anything any Westerner would recognize as “moderate.”
When I did a Google search of Faisal Abdul Rauf sharia, I came up with all sorts of things, but one thing I noticed was that conservative sites had all sorts of information which expose Imam Rauf as a strong supporter of shari’a and liberal sites telling us that no, he’s a moderate, he doesn’t really support shari’a in its harsher applications. One thing about the internet: sometimes you get such a jumble of information, it’s difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Then again, I think back on President Reagan and Oliver North, and their search for a “moderate” in the Iranian government with whom they could deal for the release of the hostages. They saw “moderates” where none existed, because they wanted to see them.
We are also told that the majority of the Palestinian people simply want peace, and that they would really be fine with the so-called two-state solution, but, even if that’s true, in heir actions they wind up supporting and enabling the radical Hamas. Would even a truly “moderate” Imam Rauf wind up enabling the more radical elements and Islamists?
When I did a Google search of Faisal Abdul Rauf sharia, I came up with all sorts of things, but one thing I noticed was that conservative sites had all sorts of information which expose Imam Rauf as a strong supporter of shari’a
Did you happen to notice that Fox was interviewing him AS a moderate Muslim before that lunatic Pam Geller started whipping up racial hysteria against him?
You wanna know how the German people managed to get themeselves into Kristallnicht? Go look in a mirror.
By association, Fox and all its viewers are terrorist Muslims!
So now we know who your mentor is, Dana, DNW, ropelight, Hube…
What’s the next step in your radical agenda, bomb jockeys?
Here’s the loony left on display again. Mad dog crazy, running in circles snarling and snapping at their own tails, supporting terrorism, revealing their lack of compassion for the families of the 9/11 victims.
Things are getting pretty strange when Howard Dean and Harry Reid line up against Barack Obama and Nancy Pilosi. Her call for an investigation of opponents is nothing short of bizarre, the Speaker has lost her marbles. If she’s seriously seeking investigations for opponents of the Mosque, then she’s the one in need of a close examination, of her head, her addiction to botox has muddled her mind.
Congressional Democrats should think very carefully about asking her to step down. If we had a parliamentary system, a vote of “no confidence” would be in the works. Simply put, the country is facing an unknown and difficult future, and that silly woman just isn’t mentally stable enough to be in the direct line of succession.
PiaToR: Did you happen to notice that Fox was interviewing him AS a moderate Muslim before that lunatic Pam Geller started whipping up racial hysteria against him?
For those who never heard of Pam Geller:
h/t: MoJo
Does this sound like any of our commenters on this blog? You be the decider!
Our nation is in decline, and it is not only about money and the economy. It is about morals, not only about engaging in aggressive wars of choice, but also what happened/is happening in the last few days.
As a counter to Eric’s racist bigotry expressed here in the last few days, reflecting the fear not only on the Right but also on the Left, Peter Beinart of the Daily Beast has some wisdom to offer right here:
So we have even declined from GW Bush’s vision of religious liberty for all!!
For people concerned about our decline, this is a good op/ed that attempts to deal with one aspect of it, thus well worth a read! And for Eric and his ilk, they ought to look at GW Bush as THE role model on this issue!!
I’ve already reminded you that this is about religion, not race. Nor is it bigotry to criticize another religion. If it were, then Pho would be the biggest bigot here, given his rants about Christianity.
Even liberal viewers who watch merely in order to be offended?
I can’t speak for the others, but where have I ever mentioned watching, much less following, Fox News?
Find a way to avoid being roped into government mandated cost sharing programs with dysfunctional lefties and their incompetent clients.
All het up with no place to go, a certain troll bursts forth shouting ….
Say troll, was that, Theme selves, or Theme sleeves? Can you hum a few bars?
[No pun intended even if deserved ... a troll ... bars ... etc.]
” …into Kristallnicht? ”
Nicht?
Nein.
