Right now, there’s a lot of contradictory information out there; about the only thing we can say for certain at the moment is that he was nuts.

I think that’s being too kind. Nuts is a guy in an asylum because he thinks he’s Napoleon. Let’s call this guy what he was – EVIL. He didn’t just “Snap”, clearly this was a premeditated act with a lot of planning that went into it. You don’t kill and injure that many people on a random whim.

In what universe is killing your fellow soldiers “serving your country”? He was NOT serving his country (unless you decide his country is somewhere east of here).

Well, he was an American, no doubt about that: he was born in Virginia, which makes him a natiral born American citizen. Serving his country? Certainly he had, in the past, but yesterday, maybe not so much.
