I’m posting this here primarily so I can post the pictures on Truth Before Dishonor without eating up too much of Mr Hitchcock’s bandwidth! More pictures after the fold.
Afternoon snow pictures
At least no one called it “snowmageddon.” The girls made a deal with me: they’d make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies if I’d go get the chips. So, around 4:00 PM, I walked down to Jim Thorpe Market. And I just saw two Borough snowplows go by, clearing my street, as I uploaded these pictures; my [...]
A dedicated campaigner
Steven Armbruster, the Republican nominee for Carbon County Sheriff, knocked on my door a few minutes ago. He’s out campaigning and dropping of Republican campaign literature on this snowy morning, wearing an ACU-pattern Army ballcap, with snow on the brim. (I should have grabbed my camera and gotten a picture.) Carbon County Republican candidates: Superior [...]

A few pics from downtown, plus Xion’s Big Adventure
I walked downtown today and took a few more photos: This townhouse is fairly plain looking from the outside, except for the doors, but we went through it when it was for sale about seven years ago, and it’s really magnificent inside.
Backyard blogging
It’s cool enough in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, that, at 6:45 PM, Mrs Pico put on a sweater and PFC Pico grabbed a dark blue Army sweatshirt that her Sergeant Major gave her. The charcoal has been started, and the ladies are starting a game of Harry Potter Clue; I normally don’t play the board games. [...]
Campfire
Cooking out, at Mauch Chunk Lake. Mrs Pico cooked chicken breast strips with lemon, and roasted some potatoes, Portabella mushrooms and corn-on-the-cob. That was done over charcoal. Then, after the food was prepared, PFC Pico pulled the charcoal out from under the grate, and put the firewood over it. The charcoal was so hot that [...]
